Under Chairman Dave Hobson's leadership, the PAC operates with one goal - to maximize the impact of your organization's contributions towards keeping and strengthening the Republican majority in Congress.

Pioneer PAC does not write a single check to a candidate. Instead, Pioneer PAC supports targeted incumbents, open seat candidates, and a limited number of challengers by providing direct assistance and underwriting important campaign projects. Pioneer PAC has supported candidates with everything from a wide range of campaign services, including targeted mailings, campaign literature, yard signs, websites, and our trademark bus tour.

Dear Pioneer PAC Supporter:
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of Pioneer PAC. Your generous financial support, advice, and insight have greatly contributed to our incredible success, and I am pleased to report on this year’s historic wins for Republicans.

When we began this election cycle, I wanted to build on the past achievements of Pioneer PAC. And again, this year, I made sure that every dime was spent appropriately by personally reviewing and approving all projects for cost-effectiveness.

Connecticut’s 5th District, Member vs. Member Challenge
I could not be happier to see Nancy Johnson returned to Congress in a strong victory over Rep. Jim Maloney, winning with more than 54 percent of the vote. Pioneer supported Nancy in key communities, paying for months of outdoor billboard advertising, and banner ads on public transit in the closing months.

John Shimkus, Illinois’ 19th District, Member vs. Member
John Shimkus finished ahead of Democrat Rep. David Phelps 55 percent to 45 percent. Pioneer supported Shimkus with door-to-door literature for grass roots activities.

John Linder, Georgia’s 7th District, Incumbent
Pioneer PAC supported Rep. John Linder in a tough primary. Linder was re-elected on Tuesday overwhelmingly.

Robin Hayes, North Carolina’s 8th District, Incumbent
Robin Hayes finished strong, winning re-election 54 to 44 percent. Pioneer paid for early campaign literature for Rep. Hayes.

Mark Kennedy, Minnesota’s 6th District, Incumbent
Rep. Kennedy drew a strong self-funded challenger, and Pioneer PAC supported polling and campaign literature to ensure Rep. Kennedy’s successful return.

Shelly Moore Capito, West Virginia’s 2nd District, Incumbent
Despite $9.5 million in spending against her, Shelly won a convincing victory in 2002, securing a 60/40 margin on Tuesday. Pioneer supported Shelly with two batches of yard signs.

Rob Simmons, Connecticut’s 2nd District
Rob Simmons was an early target of Democrats after knocking off former Rep. Sam Gejdenson in 2000. With video and photography production services from Pioneer PAC, Rob cruised to a 54/46 victory.

Tom Latham, Iowa’s 4th District
Pioneer PAC helped Rep. Latham return to Congress by paying for phone banks to get-out the Republican vote in the 4th district. Latham won 53/44.

Florida’s 5th District, Challenger Pick-up
Although some thought Ginny Brown-Waite was in trouble after some negative press, Pioneer PAC paid for additional polling work that had this race still up two points – which was the ultimate margin of victory in this key race. Ginny dumped democrat Karen Thurman, in this key pick-up for the Republicans.

Mike Turner, Ohio’s 3rd District, Open Seat Pick-up
Pioneer PAC supported my Ohio neighbor, Mike Turner, with campaign literature printing services in his bid to replace retiring Democrat Tony Hall. Mike won convincingly 59/41.

Alabama’s 3rd District, New Open Seat Pick-up
Mike Rogers beat Joe Turnham by less than 4,000 votes in Alabama’s 3rd District. Mike Rogers used the Pioneer PAC bus tour model to stump across the district to victory.

Steve Pearce, New Mexico’s 2nd District
In the race to replace retiring Joe Skeen, Pioneer PAC supported Steve Pearce’s winning campaign with the purchase of outdoor billboards and mailings. Pearce won 56/44.

Chris Chocola, Indiana’s 2nd District, Open Seat Pick-up
Chris Chocola won the seat of retiring Dem. Tim Roemer in this hard-fought campaign against former Member Jill Long Thompson by a margin of 50 to 46 percent. Pioneer supported Chris with a bus tour.

Phil Gingrey, Georgia’s 11th District, New Open Seat Pick-up
Pioneer supported “Gingrey’s Gang” on its two-day bus tour across GA-11. Gingrey beat millionaire Roger Kahn, who spent $2.5 million of his own money to attempt to win this seat.

Jon Porter, Nevada’s 3rd District, New Open Seat
Pioneer PAC supported Jon Porter with yard signs for this new Nevada district. Porter finished ahead 56 to 37 percent.

Jeb Bradley, New Hampshire’s 1st District, Open Seat
Pioneer supported Jeb with a campaign mailing in the closing days of this campaign. Jeb won John Sununu’s seat 58 percent to 39 percent.

Jeb Hensarling, Texas’ 5th District
Jeb Hensarling won Pete Session’s old seat 58 to 40 in this Texas race. Jeb had strong support from Pioneer PAC with a bus tour of the 5th District.

Bus Tour provides Route to Victory for Four Candidates
Our trademark bus tour continues to be the route to victory. Four candidates maximized their earned media and grassroots efforts by putting together bus tours paid for by Pioneer PAC – Jeb Hensarling in Texas, Phil Gingrey in Georgia, Chris Chocola in Indiana, and Mike Rogers in Alabama.
